FUTURESCAPE PROJECTは、象の鼻テラスが2019年から開始した公共空間活用事業です。SDGs達成に貢献することも視野にいれ、「環境」「災害」「食」「健康」「教育」「花と緑」の６分野にフォーカスし、多様な主体による社会実験などを推進しています。そして３回目の開催となる2021年は、世界的な新型コロナウイルス感染症(COVID-19)の拡大を受け、「ニュー（ノーマル＋クリエイティブ）ライフ」をテーマに開催します。

新型コロナウイルス感染症のパンデミックにより、私たちの生活は大きく変化しました。感染症の拡大を防ぐことがいまなお最優先の社会課題であることは当然の前提ですが、コロナ禍の日常を少しでも楽しく、豊かなものにすることもまた重要な課題となりつつあります。本年度の FURURESCAPE PROJECTは、こうした課題を踏まえ、コロナ禍の日常を少しでも創造的に、楽しく生きるためのアイデアを集積します。

アイデアの集積にあたっては、「ニュー（ノーマル＋クリエイティブ）ライフ12か条」を設定しました。招待アーティストによるアートプログラム、市民や企業から募集する公募プログラム、そしてコロナ禍の公共空間を考えるサミットが、新型コロナウイルス感染症の脅威と共存しつつ、心身ともに豊かに生きる社会を実現するヒントとなることを期待しています。

FUTURESCAPE PROJECT is a public space utilization project began in 2019 by Zou-no-hana Terrace. With a view to contributing to the fulfillment of SDGs, we are promoting social experiments by various subjects, focusing on the six fields of “Environment”, “Disaster”, “Food”, “Health”, “Education”, and “Flowers and Greenery”. In 2021, the third event will be held under the theme of “NEW — NORMAL/CREATIVE — LIFE” in response to the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.

The pandemic of COVID-19 has changed our lives greatly. It is a natural assumption that preventing the spread of infectious diseases is still the top priority of the social task, but it is also becoming important to make our daily life under COVID-19 pandemic even a little more enjoyable and richer. Based on these challenges, the FURESCAPE PROJECT in this year will collect ideas for making our daily life under COVID-19 pandemic a little more creative and enjoyable.

In the process of collecting ideas, we have established “The Twelve Articles of a New — Normal/Creative —Life”. We hope that invited artists’ art programs, public recruitment programs from citizens and companies, and the Summit on the public spaces under COVID-19 pandemic will be hints for realizing a society that lives well both physically and mentally, while coexistence with the threat of COVID-19.
